It sounds like a progresive metal band, but it isn't.
This was my very first time that I wrote in a blog. At the beginning it was very awkward. I felt strange. Me writing in a blog, unbelievable. I always said blogging was for people who doesn't had a life, and so on.
In this english course I was forced to create one and to post relatively often. With the tame I felt more familiar with it. I don't know if I learnt more english this way, but at least I'm making the effort of writting, and that helps for sure.

Brassed Off
Brassed Off is a movie, that shows how citicens from a mining comunity are forced to leave their jobs and town, because the British Coal Board is going to close the mine very soon. At the beginning it seems like it was going to be a very boring movie. But as long as we were watching it, I noticed that it wasn't boring, and that the main characters were also famous.
The story is related to band of this small town. A band that is going down because the musicians are in danger of loosing their job in the mine. But they recover their enthusiasm when a very good looking women join the band. She was the doughter of an old band director, and in her childhood, she was also a good friend from an integrant of the band.
They even participate in a competicion, while in the other hand, they were whitout jobs and their family were almost starving.
I won't write the whole movie, so you can see it in the future.
I liked the move, it was funny, but most of all, i learned a little frome that situation. That reality the english mining towns were forced to live.

Me? Reading? .. Ok, it's true
You have to read a lot, as much as you are able to, newspapers, novels, whatever you want. That's the message I got from my parents when I was a child. Reading, you learn new words, new contents, opinions from other people, new cultures and bla bla bla. That was the speech I used to hear. At school, i hated books, reading was so boring. Maybe because those books where awfull. The thing is that i hated everything related with books. Sometimes I read the newspaper, not the whole thing, but some articles, or some lines to be honest.
Here is the thing. One Summer, I decided to read something, a book, so I could close my parents mouth. I took the most popular book at that moment. Avoiding the risk of choosing something boring. I took a controvercial one, "The Davinci Code" written by Dan Brown.
It doesn't matter in wich religion you believe, of course they talk shit about the oppus dei, and tell facts some people say they are all lies, and for others true facts. Ignoring that or going beyond it, the secuences are great! It is like a serial from TV. As soon as you finish one chapter, you feel the need of reading the next one. And so on on every chapter. And it's like five in the morning and you still don't want to go to sleep, you have to make an effort to stop reading and leave something for the next day.
This Book. is the longest book I have read in my life and in less time. It was less than a week! For me that is a great succes.
I recomended it to everyone. Not for nothing was a best seller, and the most commented topic in more than a year.
'till next post, bye

Good Architecture
Hi visitors!
Here I am again, updating my blog
(better late than never :S)
it's very hard to decide who is the best architect today, or ever. Analysing Architecture is a very complicated task. Everyone has is own point of view because it is not a science, and doesn't work with science facts. Of course you have to start with the basis that the building has to work fine in his function, if it doesn't, that architect suck! trust me. The aspects I analyse to decide wich architect I like most, are: How great they solve the problem. the way they do it and, if the project looks good. I don't have much eperience in this career or lifestyle, so, for me, the most important aspect is the second one! haha but being serious. For a project to look cool there are many aspects they have to manage. For expample how innovative it is in his forms, materials, among others. And how they fade between their context, etc, etc.
An Architect I like a lot is Zaha Hadid. She was born in a city that today probably doesn't exist thanks to our beloved george bush. She was born in Baghdad, Iraq. But she has lived most of his life in London, where she also has his studio.
I haven't spent time researching his work deeply. But you can see from far she is good in what she does. I like how free she designs, the freedoms of her shapes and geometries.
I will show you now one example. It is a building you'll have to see if you go to münchen (munich) in germany, obliged. If you like cars, you have to go (everybody likes cars when you are talking about BMW's). and if you don't, you will have to go too because its is a great museum. I will atach some pictures for you to make your own opinion and judgement.

Great Buildings
There are many buidings I like. It would be unfair to choose just one and in the oder hand it's hard to decide the facts you are going to consider, to finally choose your favourite building. I'll name two.
The first one is the "Sagrada Familia" in Barcelona. This is un unfinished church in the middle of the city. It's curious that it has been under construction more than hundread years. I dont' know if it is a political touristic issue or, they really build that slow. When I came in, it was amazing, because it's like the tipical old church, huge, made of stone, big columns, etc. BUT with the great Gaudi style. Everithing well decorated and beautyfull facades. It's awesome.
And the second one is "The Dancing Building" by Gehry. This one is located in Prague, in the downtown near the river. I pick this one, because I consider it mix in a very good way, old buildings with his own style, that crazy one you can see in the Guggenheim in Bilbao, but with control. He continues the formal, regular facade with, but little dizzy. However, it stil play the same game. The new building doesn't crush with the old style.
Sagrada Familia, Barcelona, Spain
Dancing Building, Prague, Czech Republic

BBC initiative
Last semester, when I was in Germany, I met a mexican whose german was very good. But really good. He surprised me when he spoke. I asked him and he told me he learnt in a website, an online course. I didn't realise before that this kind of courses exist, and even less, that with such courses you would be able to speak so well a foreign language.
Then I said, I'll do the same thing!! ... of course I didn't, but I joined this grate course with an awesome teacher, Simon, do you know him? :P ... where was I? Well, I think these sites are very usefull if you want to learn by yourself. I acces to the "phrasals" link. In that section you hear/read a sentence, where appears a new vocabulary or "phrasals"(expressions). Then I went to a Listening section.
I like the initiative, but I would make it a little more atractive, I mean the website. I found it boring. Usefull but boring.

Favourite Website
How did I met my favourite website? I guess it was "one time, in band camp..." haha noup, just a joke. Let me think.. I'm not from those guys who enjoy spending a lot of time surfing different websites and stuff. But if I had to specify my favourite website I'll name two. My e-mail and Emol. I normally check my e-mail to see if there is something new, and then I check the news to see what is happening in the world. But, to be honest, emol is not the best way to read the news. It is much better to take the real "El Mercurio" and read it. When I'm bored, I also read Lun , and there I read all the crap the TV showed the day before. As an Information media, it sucks, but really, the worst newspaper I've ever seen and read. It is a Gossip newspaper (and website by the way). Luckily, to save some money, you can find in these websites the complete electronic version of the papers online.
Another website that I like, but I am not really a fun of it, is Youtube. This site is the best one to Procrastinate. If you don't really understand what this word means, please visit this link, I'm sure you'll feel familiar whit it. Check it an comment here if you are a preocrastinater or not.
bye bye
